FIJI NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR DISABLED PERSONS ACT 1994
(ACT NO. 21 OF 1994)

APPOINTMENT OF THE MEMBERS OF THE FIJI NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR DISABLED PERSONS
(Section 7)

In accordance with Subsection (2) of Section 7 of the Fiji National Council for Disabled Persons Act 1994, the following persons were appointed Council Members of the Fiji National Council for Disabled Persons, for a term of two (2) years with effect from 1st February, 2006.

  1. The Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Women, Social Welfare, Poverty Alleviation and Housing - Chairperson.
  2. The Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Health or Representative - Member.
  3. The Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports or Representative - Member.
  4. The Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Finance and National Planning or Representative - Member.
  5. The Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Labour and Industrial Relations and Productivity or Representative - Member.
  6. The Director, Department of Social Welfare or Representative - Member.
  7. The President, Fiji Sports Association for the Disabled - Member.
  8. The President, Fiji Disabled Peoples Association - Member.
  9. The Director General, Fiji Red Cross Society - Member.
  10. The President, Fiji Crippled Children Society - Member.
  11. The President, Fiji Society for the Blind - Member.
  12. The President, Counterstroke Fiji - Member.
  13. The President, Suva Intellectually Handicapped Society - Member.
  14. The Executive Director, Fiji National Council for Disabled Persons - Member/Secretary.

Also, in accordance with Subsection (3) of Section 7, the Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Fijian Affairs, Culture, Heritage & Provincial Development or Representative and the Chief Executive Officer for the Public Service Commission or Representative were appointed as co-opted members of the Council for a term of two (2) years with effect from 1st February, 2006.
